JLN has a wide range of capabilities in the assessment and development of Health and Safety programs. The following sections are broken down my topical category to facilitate the readers’ review of areas of interest. It should be noted that while capabilities are presented for individual topics, JLN has extensive experience in integrating these elements into comprehensive Health and Industrial Safety projects and/or programs. JLN provides benefit to our customers by applying an integration approach throughout the definition, development, implementation and continuing evaluation of a client’s Health and Safety program.

JLN has extensive experience in supporting development and implementation of occupational safety and health programs. We have conducted assessments using OSHA, NIOSH, and related codes and recommended practices. JLN services include:

JLN has experience developing and upgrading both health and safety management programs and facility-specific health and safety procedures. In assessing the need for upgrades, JLN begins by analyzing work areas, hazards, and job tasks to identify all health and safety requirements (as appropriate to each function and operation). These requirements are then either incorporated into the facility’s existing compliance procedures or developed into new compliance procedures. This is done in order to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and company , health, and safety regulations. Proactive health and safety management programs include written instruction to provide safe operational, maintenance, and administrative guidance for potentially hazardous work conditions. JLN has developed procedures for all aspects of facility operation. JLN staff can assist a facility in the review or preparation of all required procedures. JLN can also provide expert assistance in the specification of format and content guides designed to enhance the usability of procedures and minimize human errors.

JLN has extensive experience in planning for and response to chemical process incidents, fires, natural disasters, and other potential emergencies. We have prepared:

  • Emergency action plans

  • Hazardous waste contingency plans

JLN has both led and critiqued emergency drills for a wide variety of facilities/occupancies. Several of our staff members have practical fire service and/or industrial fire/emergency response experience. Development of health and safety compliance plans requires detailed research of compliance and documentation activities. JLN capabilities include identification and documentation of all major permits, and authorizations; describing existing Health and Safety compliance management, compliance tracking, and training systems; audit and inspection systems; identification and documentation of operational and management systems, equipment, and any activities that could result in adverse Health and Safety impacts. The purpose for developing Health and Safety Compliance Plans is to provide a framework for Safety compliance. These plans are also helpful in describing the compliance goals and programs necessary to ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Federal, State, and local and safety regulations. JLN has used such plans to install and populate site-specific.

Facility Dismantling and Repowering Projects require oversight of many health and safety compliance activities. JLN staff have provided on-site , health, and safety oversight of all activities associated with these projects including development of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures, surveillance of contractor construction activities, conducting safety meetings, permitting and licensing support, accident investigation, regulatory interface, and training of project personnel.
